What you will do in your working day

The purpose of this role is to provide administration support to different operating units / teams within the company. You will contribute to team priorities and maintain your own professional development. Duties will include:

Clerical / Administrative:

  • Maintain electronic filing system
  • Photocopying
  • Monitoring and responding to emails
  • Maintain website and social media
  • Provide reception cover - welcoming visitors and answering calls
  • Use of MS Office applications
  • Support with minute production
  • Accurately input data


  • General financial administration including raising PO's and raising invoices
  • Gain understanding of payroll and systems


  • Liaise with customers understanding and responding to customer needs
  • Build relationships and provide service that exceeds expectations
  • Promote SIL as a provider of choice
  • Provide a friendly and professional customer focussed service at all times

Support for Training Delivery:

  • Support arrangements of delivery
  • Advertise SIL training sessions on the website ensuring delegates are booked on and joining instructions sent
  • Welcome delegates on arrival
  • Provide admin support for tutors during sessions
  • Maintain delegate registers

The training you will be getting

As part of this apprenticeship you will work towards Business Administrator L3 standard and L2 functional skills in maths and English if needed.

You will have a dedicated Development Coach who will meet with you on a 1-1 basis each month, and you may also attend online tutorial sessions.

This is an excellent opportunity to get an all round experience in a busy office environment with an employer who offer a range of services including a supply teacher recruitment service, training programmes for schools and other services. 

As well as a permanent role in the company you will also have the chance to build a close relationship with Liverpool City Council and access to their internal recruitment opportunities.
