What you will do in your working day

  • Work one-on-one with the Manufacturing Specialist to learn the specialised skill set.
  • Work with quartz glass and to check & inspect your work.
  • Follow a designed program.
  • Perform machining operations to manufacture production and prototype quartz components to precise dimensions.
  • Inspect machining operations and finished products.
  • Perform cleaning, grinding, cutting, and washing operations.
  • Using CNC and manual machine centres, as well as hands on manual fabricating work.
  • Report time and material movements in ERP system as required.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and clean work area.

The training you will be getting

Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard;

  • Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)
  • Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)

From September, training will be day release to Derwentside College, Consett.
