What you will do in your working day

When in the company you will:

  • Work alongside a mentor who will train you up to manufacture components to drawing specifications using the latest machinery available.
  • Your development will continue to make you multi skilled within the business with access to robotics and other automated machinery.
  • You will adhere to the safety standards and systems of work whilst carrying out your daily job role.

The training you will be getting

  • Duration approximately 40-45 months.
  • Year 1 includes 26-42 weeks off the job training to cover practical and theory aspects
  • Year 2 would include 1 day per week to complete EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge
  • Years 2,3&4 will be based in company developing skills in preparation for the end point assessment to gain your  Engineering Machining Technician Level 3 qualification.
  • You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment.
  • Additional training for functional skills in English and maths will be undertaken if needed.
