What you will do in your working day

  • Machine assembly, installation, service and repair of textile machinery
  • Diagnosis of faults 
  • Answering technical queries from customers via phone & email
  • Assisting colleagues with technical support

The training you will be getting

Level 2 Engineering Operative - Mechanical pathway 

The role covers a wide range of common and job specific skills sets that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering industry sectors during the course of their careers. Dependent on the sector that they are employed in there may be subtle differences in terms of composition and application of the job role specific skills and knowledge they will require, however the core skills and knowledge will be the same regardless of the sector/area they work in. This role is a field based role and as such you will be required to travel across the UK and attend training courses in Europe alongside your apprenticeship training.

  • Depending on your job role, you will study a variety of units in Level 2 diploma/certificate in practical skills and off the job technical certificate.
  • Diploma in engineering operations (skills)
  • Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge)
  • Level 1 qualifications in English and mathematics (if required), plus undertaking the test for level 2

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Upon completion of the L2 apprenticeship there will be the opportunity to progress onto a L3 apprenticeship programme.

Things to consider

This role is a filed based role and as such you will be required to travel across the UK and attend training courses in Europe alongside your apprenticeship training. A driving licence would be beneficial for this role.
