What you will do in your working day

  • To operate the day-to-day administration of the Estimating Department
  • Maintain the filing systems and ensure that filing is kept up to date, including the archiving system
  • Logging new tender enquiries onto the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Liaise with customers regarding the status of quoted projects
  • Logging new orders
  • Completion of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires
  • Generate ops reports monthly when requested by the Sales and Estimating Director
  • Perform other duties within your capabilities as required
  • Learn to operate at all times within the quality standards and procedures defined by the Company
  • Working with colleagues to best support the estimating function.
  • Perform other duties within your capabilities from time to time as and when requested by the company

The training you will be getting

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Hereford (HR4 9SX)

You will receive a training plan that is specific to your qualification, with sessions that are delivered through a combination of face-to-face and remote. 

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification.

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

It is hoped that the Apprentice will complete their apprenticeship and become an Administrator on the team. There is potential for the applicant to become an Estimator.
