What you will do in your working day

The Nursery Apprentice will:

· Support the Room Leader on a daily basis, delivering outstanding lessons following the Early Years Curriculum.

Teaching and Learning

· To support the Room Leader to provide a safe, friendly, stimulating environment in which the pupils can flourish.

· Commit to gaining a working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.

Pastoral Leadership

· To develop good relationships with parents and to report to the Nursery Room Leader and/or Nursery Manager regarding any significant aspects.

· To promote the general progress, well-being and behavior of individual pupils, maintaining good order and behavior in line with the school's policies and expectations.

· To adhere fully to all school policies including: Anti-Bullying, Safeguarding and Behavior policies.

Administration and other responsibilities

· To attend staff meetings and briefings in accordance with the calendar of meetings and routines published at the start of each term. 

· To maintain high standards of professionalism at all times.

· To follow and support all school policies and procedures. 

Continuing Professional Development

· To attend college and complete coursework to achieve Child Care Qualification.

· Complete courses and training relevant to role.

General Duties

· To actively contribute to the activities of the school and support colleagues.

· To be aware of and comply with Health and Safety policies, legislation and best practice.

· To work within school procedures and codes of practice.

· To undertake such other duties as are required by the Room Nursery Manager.

  • Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship
  • Learning both on the job and at taught sessions attended at New College Swindon
  • The knowledge, skills and behaviours as set out in the Standard.
  • Maths or English Level 1 functional skills if required GCSE grades are not met

Permanent position once you have finished your qualification.

Cricklade is a short drive from the M4 and A419, making it easily accessible from Cirencester, Swindon, Malmesbury and surrounding areas. The school is housed on an 8-acre site within the town, including a handsome Grade II listed manor house, a separate Pre-Prep department housed within a walled garden, a number of purpose-built classroom blocks and extensive sports facilities including astroturf and grass pitches and a sports hall. The Nursery sits in its own dedicated building situated within the walled garden. The Nursery currently has over 70 children registered. This role has arisen do to the continued projected growth of the setting.
