What you will do in your working day

  • You will be the first point of contact for our parents and school visitors, performing receptionist duties face to face and on the telephone and email throughout the day.
  • You will model excellent professional relationships with children, parents and other professionals in the school and wider academy trust. Organising our busy email in box and school calendar and ensuring that the weekly diaries are up to date.
  • You will have specific responsibilities for key areas of the office work, such as monitoring registers on a daily basis and ensuring that key services are administered well and run smoothly.
  • You will learn to write clear communications and, working with the school office team, help to maintain the content on our website, Facebook and other approved social media platforms.
  • You will learn about data management, finance management, purchase ordering and stock control.

The training you will be getting

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Worcester (WR4 9GN).

You will receive a training plan that is specific to your qualification, with sessions that are delivered through a combination of face-to-face and remote.

Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed.

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Business Admin qualification.

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.
