What you will do in your working day

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for planning, controlling and monitoring of construction projects from the start through to practical completion.   You will assist in the procurement of materials and setting out our key supply chain to ensure all projects are completed within the financial budgets set.  As part of our plans for continued growth here at Concept Building Services (Southern) Ltd, we will be recruiting an entry-level Project Manager Degree Apprentice to join us this summer.

As you progress through your learning, duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Assisting Project Managers
  • Data Analysis
  • Stakeholder Communication
  • Risk Management
  • Pre Construction Planning
  • Blend of Hands on and Academic Learning
  • Regular Project Reporting & Updating
  • Cash Flow Forecasts
  • Subcontractor Ordering
  • Final account and client handover

The training you will be getting

Working as part of the construction team and having a fully qualified Contract/Project Managers to mentor you, you will learn the skills needs to develop as a project manager in a hands-on role, whilst also attending university 1 day per week on a day release basis, to gain a BSc (Hons) in Project Management.

Apprentices are required to achieve an International Project Management Association (IPMA) Level D qualification or equivalent, prior to taking the end point assessment.
