What you will do in your working day

  • Ability to work with the class teacher to secure the best outcomes for each child through; the delivery of learning activities, questioning and assessment and marking
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents demonstrating a good standard of spoken and written English
  • Extend children’s thinking skills
  • Encourage good social skills and model acceptable behaviour
  • Understand Individual Education Programmes and contribute to assessments
  • Have the initiative to adapt teaching sessions
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and follow the school’s behaviour policy

The training you will be getting

  • NCFE Cache Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2 (if required)
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Any relevant CPD for the role

College attendance of 1 mandatory day per month at Peterborough College
