What you will do in your working day

Immerse yourself in an exciting role where you'll acquire hands-on knowledge in servicing and repairing a variety of mechanical plant machinery. At our Stockport production facility we produce fire suppression products that are shipped worldwide. Come, be a part of our team and make a real difference in our production process.

On-the-Job Work Experience:

  • You'll spend significant time with our qualified engineers, where you'll be learn the skills necessary to install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment. Our maintenance team play a key role in minimising downtime
  • This hands-on experience will provide you with a challenging role where you can grow your maintenance skills daily

Collaboration with Qualified Engineers:

  • Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll work closely with qualified Johnson Controls Engineers who will serve as mentors, guiding you in developing your skills. This collaborative environment ensures that you receive the support and guidance needed to succeed in your role
  • You will grow to play a key role in the smooth operation of our facility, ensuring minimal downtime through effective maintenance practices
  • You'll be involved in both planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring our critical machinery never misses a beat
  • Opportunity to work with diverse systems and processes, optimising the efficiency and output of our facilities and machinery
  • From installation to testing, fault diagnosis to ongoing planned maintenance of sophisticated automated equipment, you'll be involved in a wide range of tasks
  • You'll also familiarise yourself with lean manufacturing techniques designed to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in production processes

The training you will be getting

College Attendance:

  • You'll enrol on a 3-year Maintenance and Operation Engineering Technician apprenticeship program-conducted remotely for your convenience - with solid support from your mentor and our dedicated apprentice training team

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Upon completion of this apprenticeship there are many internal opportunities within the company
  • Many of our previous apprentices have become lead engineers and take control of their own team and projects
