What you will do in your working day

  • To undertake engineering tasks allocated by departmental Supervisor, which are deemed by them to be within your capabilities
  • To attend WSC on day release
  • To work on the basis of continual assessment towards building up a portfolio and to complete job write ups as directed by the Assessor. To satisfy the Assessor that the required standard has been achieved in each module
  • Ensure all company standards are promoted and maintained
  • Ensure safe working practices at all times
  • Ensure commitment and application of the company Quality, Environmental and HS Policies
  • Help identify any areas for improvement and implement
  • Maintain areas and equipment in accordance with the Kaizen 5S workplace organisation standard
  • Carry out any other duties which may from time to time be reasonably requested to assist in the day to day running of the company

The training you will be getting

  • You will be supported in your studies towards an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, which together with the practical experience you gain, will provide you with the perfect platform for an exciting career ahead
  • Day release to West Suffolk College
  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Full-time role as a skilled engineer
  • After completion of your apprenticeship, you will also be given the opportunity to complete further training

Things to consider

You will be learning from skilled engineers and therefore must have the ability to take notes and have listening skills. Work can be repetitive and attention to detail is essential. Must be focused at all times.
