What you will do in your working day

Your day to day role will include but not limited to:

  • Grass Maintenance
  • Machinery Maintenance
  • Hedge Cutting
  • Planting
  • Weeding
  • Plant Propagation
  • Cut Flower Production
  • Use a range of machinary including strimmer, lawn mowers, hedge cutter
  • Tractor Training 

The training you will be getting

  • You will be working towards a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship Standard
  • You will receive on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor

You will be required to attend Duchy College Rosewarne on a one day a week basis as part of the apprenticeship training.

The following qualifications will be required prior to taking the end point assessment:

  • Emergency first aid: Level 3 award in emergency first aid at work
  • Pesticides: Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of
  • Pesticides Guidance OR Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides
