What you will do in your working day

  • Greeting customers who enter the shop 
  • Assisting shoppers to find the goods and products they are looking for

The training you will be getting

  • The training will take place over teams in the workplace in your allocated apprenticeship time (as agreed in advance with the employer)
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

After completing the apprenticeship you will be able to continue on to a level 3 retail team leader role if you wish to continue your personal development with this industry. This can then lead in to mangerial roles within the retail sector but will also arm you with trasferable skills that would enable possible movement into a new industry.

About the employer

A family-run business which started in 1917 at Elephant and Castle, South East London. The shop moved to Sutton in 1923 and remained in the area until 2020. They now have a department store and a removals and storage facility in East Grinstead, West Sussex.
