What you will do in your working day

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with project preparations
  • Maintaining and operating equipment
  • PAT testing
  • Safety checks and maintenance
  • Assisting with loading and unloading - getting a forklift licence 
  • Assisting around the warehouse
  • Opportunities for short field work trips, and longer trips outside of term time
  • Fixing broken equipment 
  • Welding

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) 
  • Functional skills if required

Training takes place at City College, Norwich. 1 day per week day release.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon succsesful completion of the apprenticeship, progression to a position of field technician will be offered depending on experience.
