What you will do in your working day

This role requires applicants to be 18 years of age or over due to the environment. 

The Innovation and Development department at Cerulean is responsible for all new product innovation and product design and development from the initial concept stage to the final commercial model that will be available to the market.

The function operates in a highly time-sensitive environment managing many different new development projects for customers as well as the improvement of the existing portfolio to ensure robustness and sustainability.


  • Be involved in the concept stage of new product development or any improvement of existing products
  • Assist in the development (Electromechanical) of new equipment or elements of new equipment
  • Develop CAD drawings to illustrate the proposals for new equipment or elements of new equipment
  • Be able to develop and write a functional and technical specification of the new equipment or elements of new equipment.
  • Perform feasibility studies to determine the best approach to elements of new development
  • Assist in testing new technologies and compiling detailed reports on the principles, capability and feasibility of new technologies
  • Assist in the testing and validation of new/improved development equipment
  • Liaise with internal customers and stakeholders to deliver the defined requirements
  • Manage small internal development projects or workstreams in a project
  • Learn the different technologies and the assembly processes for existing equipment
  • Train and perform assembly and build operations on existing equipment to improve the capability of working with different components and different tool sets

The training you will be getting

You'll be studying at the Innovation & Technology, one day a week at Milton Keynes College for the Technical Support Technician,
