What you will do in your working day

  • Assisting your team to provide safe and kind care and development for children
  • Making sure each child is seen as a unique individual and ensuring their individual needs are met
  • Keeping children safe by following our policies on health and safety and child protection
  • Being involved in planning learning activities for children, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Building effective relationships with your colleagues and with children and their parents
  • Working with enthusiasm and commitment under the management of your Room Leader
  • Carrying out all work towards your apprenticeship in a professional and timely manner, in line with your learning agreement
  • Being on time and showing a positive attitude towards your work and your apprenticeship
  • Assist in meeting children’s needs for encouragement, reassurance and comfort, and support their emotional and social development
  • Attend to physical care and encourage independence and self-help at all times. This may include changing nappies and assisting with a child’s personal hygiene when required

  • Qualification in Early Years and First Aid
  • Blended on/off the job training and location to be confirmed
