What you will do in your working day

Key Responsibilities:

Client Services:

  • Communicate with clients to address and resolve enquiries
  • Client Service Excellence always
  • Assist in the onboarding of new clients via direct client contact and salesforce CRM software
  • Manage client reviews and bookings in line with Consumer Duty

Diary Management:

  • Schedule meetings and appointments for the financial advisers
  • Maintain and update Client Relationship
  • Manage client databases and systems
  • Prepare meeting files for financial adviser meetings
  • Shadow 1-3 meetings per week
  • Follow up the post meeting process

Marketing and Client Events:

  • Conduct research on investment products, markets, and trends to gain knowledge
  • Marketing to increase visibility through social media
  • Client touchpoints throughout the year
  • Research within client bank for launch of events
  • Power Point Presentations for events
  • Attend events and liaise with client and prospects

The training you will be getting

Financial Adviser Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Fully and part funded learning and development programme that includes the DipPFS Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
  • Develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of successful Financial Advisers
  • Free CII membership for non-members through the CII Aspire Apprenticeship Programme for those who have not previously been a paid member
  • Includes study book and exam entry for each R0 exam

The Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning includes:

Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

In house training on investment administrative tasks:

  • Client Data input into the Salesforce CRM platform
  • Generating investment valuation reports, and preparations for client meetings
  • Diary management and appointment booking
  • Telephone skills
  • Detailed investment report writing, in compliance with FCA regulatory procedures
  • Enter the St James’s Place Academy for structured training to attain the Competent Advisor Status
  • Once CAS status attained, potential to start servicing and advising section of the client bank

Other Bachelor's degree (Grade finance, economics, business.) Essential

Things to consider

The job will require working in an office environment, regular use of a computer, and sometimes extended hours during peak practice activity. Responsibilities may variably change during the Apprenticeship Programme, due to change in legislations or the practice in general. A background check, and references from previous employers or lecturers/teachers will be required. You may be required to take Aptitude tests during the interview process. Prior knowledge of investment products, and the financial markets is a plus. Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the investment industry is a plus. Experience with cash flow modelling software is a plus.
