What you will do in your working day

  • Providing first line telephone, email and face-to-face support to users
  • Escalating IT issues to other members of the IT service team as appropriate
  • Logging and ongoing management of tickets using the ticketing system
  • Providing technical support to clients and internal departments for a wide range of hardware and software
  • Providing a high level of customer service and resolution management
  • Ensuring that all users are kept informed of the status and progress of their tickets
  • Involvement in project work including hardware and software build and configuration
  • Creating and updating self-help and knowledge base articles

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards
  • Support the information systems needs for your business
