What you will do in your working day

You will work under the guidance of the Engineering & Facilities Manager, focusing on various key responsibilities. Your primary duties will include maintaining site facilities and production equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety standards. Additionally, you'll actively participate in improvement projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, reliability, and performance across the facility. This hands-on role offers valuable opportunities to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and project management capabilities essential for a successful career in engineering.

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence).
  • Level 2 Award for Foundation Phase Gateway Assessment.
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)

You will have day release one day a week at Sunderland College's City Campus for further training.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

This position could lead to a permanent role within the Engineering department. Also, further, to become a controls specialist with the future prospect of Production Automation.
