What you will do in your working day

As a Paralegal Apprentice within growing Dispute Resolution team, you will provide support on a broad range of client matters, whilst contributing to the ongoing growth of a firm that drives a culture of support.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility for files/parts of files, conducting all matters in the client’s best interests
  • Maintaining time recording on client matters on a daily basis
  • Regularly updating clients as to the current situation of their case
  • Dealing with routine and difficult telephone enquiries from clients and third parties 
  • Ensuring that all client complaints are dealt with both professionally and promptly
  • Producing a range of documents as necessary
  • Assisting with duties including the physical condition of files and progressing matters according to timetable
  • Undertaking professional development to acquire knowledge of General Litigation
  • Attending appointments for new clients and meeting with existing clients where necessary
  • Assisting with administrative duties including copying and scanning documents received, creating documents and bundles, file closures and mandatory file reporting

The training you will be getting

Paralegal Apprenticeship Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • This is a 24-month programme and after successful completion, you will gain a recognised CILEx qualification and be ready to move into a Paralegal role within the firm
  • You will have off-the-job time dedicated to your study which will be delivered by an authorised training provider and all course and training fees will be paid by the firm

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Upon successful completion of the paralegal apprenticeship apprentices become CILEx Level 3 qualified paralegals and are ready to move into paralegal roles within the business
  • Some may wish to continue their professional development through further study and may consider applying for the Chartered Legal Executive Apprenticeship
