What you will do in your working day

Through training and mentoring, you will advance your skills and experience, learning school curriculum expectations and requirements, gaining the knowledge to teach and coach to exceptional standards.

This role requires someone already qualified to level 2 standard, passionate, creative, and ambitious, who is ready to nurture children and young adults to live healthy and active lifestyles.

Duties will include:

  • Assist in the delivery of fun, engaging, and educational PE lessons
  • Assist with the development and organisation of sport and physical activity projects
  • Achieve development aims as dictated by your training schedule

The training you will be getting

Throughout the apprenticeship you will gain:

  • Level 4 Sports Coach - School Coach Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 2 Certificate in Coaching (Sport & Physical Activity)

Apprenticeship training will be delivered by a Training Provider online. The sessions will be delivered bi-weekly for 2-3 hours.

Apprentices will be given 6 hours per week to focus on apprenticeship work, the other 29 hours per week will be dedicated to working with the employer to develop skills, knowledge and experience in the workplace. 

Apprentices without GCSE grade 4 or equivalent maths and English will need to take Functional Skills level 2 before the End point Assessment.
