What you will do in your working day

Once in the full role within the business your duties will sit as:
• Produce technical drawings, models and designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and various other design programmes.
• Visiting sites and carrying out detailed site surveys.
• Understand the importance of maintenance of existing equipment and manufacture of new parts when required.
• Problem Solving and fault-finding.
• Installation, testing and adjustment of plant and machinery to make sure it is running smoothly, safely and meeting required standards.
• Use of different tools such as hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment.
• Importance of health and safety and familiarisation with industry guidelines and regulations.

The training you will be getting

Level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

Tech cert : This programme includes EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)

This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering campus, NG17. This attendance is required during term time only.

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.
You will experience a blended learning model.
You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.

Full time permanent role with progression onto the level 3 apprenticeship.
