The apprentice will be trained in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems and work towards achieving an Advanced qualification.

What you will do in your working day

  • Assist with and perform installation and maintenance tasks in order to ensure the effective operation of various electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Repairing or maintaining, all electrical and mechanical equipment within or around the SACO buildings
  • Completing pre-scheduled preventative maintenance
  • As an apprentice mechatronic technician, you will be trained in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems

The training you will be getting

Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard - Mechatronics Maintenance Technician:

  • First Year: Block-release in the college setting 
  • Second Year: One day-release at college and the rest of the time is in the workplace 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • There may be opportunity to progress onto a higher level qualification or secure permanent employment
