What you will do in your working day

  • To carry out Ultrasonic thickness / plate testing (PCN or ASNT Level one) not necessary as training will be provided
  • Firing high frequency sound pulses into materials
  • Assessing risks
  • Keep work records up to date
  • Work will be carried out on ships in either the UK or Abroad
  • Knowledge of ships would be an advantage but again training will be provided
  • Work carried out will be onboard ships and will mainly be in tanks that can be dirty and in confined spaces plus climbing in and out of these areas. Working at heights is involved also
  • NDT course included
  • Ultrasonic training included

The training you will be getting

All training will take place in the workplace with no requirement to attend college.

Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Standard.

Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills) qualification.

Things to consider

Work will be carried out on ships in either the UK or Abroad. Must be willing to work away from home at possible short notice as work is covered across the UK and Abroad. A valid passport is essential.
