What you will do in your working day

The role reports to the Head of Accounts with input from the Practice Manager and the Commercial Accountant. Key responsibilities include:

  • Paying cheques into the bank
  • Issuing cheques
  • Downloading, checking and posting supplier invoices
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Liaison with suppliers when queries arise regarding payment
  • Checking and posting invoices for disbursements
  • Issuing payments for disbursements
  • Set up payments using online banking
  • Posting of bills and notifying fee earners of any discrepancies
  • Reconcile statements from report providers
  • Distribute management reports as required
  • Filing
  • Other accounting tasks as required by the demands of the business.

The training you will be getting

  • Assistant Accountant Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Alongside your role, you will study towards the level 3 AAT qualification
