We are looking for a dedicated apprentice chef with an interest in cooking nutritionally balanced meals for children aged 3 months to 5 years including those with dietary needs. What you will do in your working day

To prepare, cook and present age - appropriate food for all the children with minimum waste and attention to detail.  Ensure stock levels are suitably managed and recorded and kitchen records are kept up to date as per requirements.  Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment to the high standard (Level 5) achieved at the nursery.
Ensure that budgetary requirements are met through careful planning of menus and food orders.

The training you will be getting

On the job training in our own kitchen and day release to CRC.

At the end of the apprenticeship training, we expect the apprentice to have reached Level 2 Production Chef qualification and be suitable to be retained as a full member of staff.  To work in partnership with the Nursery team and parents to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet for all the children in our care. Apprentices without English and maths will need to achieve level 1 and must have taken the test for level 2 prior to completion.
