What you will do in your working day

  • Quality control of DNA/RNA samples
  • NGS Library preparation
  • Operation and maintenance of NGS equipment
  • Perform and adhere to SOP when undertaking laboratory tasks in support of project progression, working independently or in conjunction with other team members
  • Be able to observe and report problems encountered with possible hardware failure or sample related issues
  • Teamwork – balancing the different demands and priorities placed upon them by the other members of the group and customers.  Working to deadlines and making effective use of the time and resources available
  • Follow standard SOPs and meticulous record keeping

The training you will be getting

  • The Apprentice will undertake the level 6 BSc (Hons) Laboratory Science degree at Anglia Ruskin Unversity (Cambridge)

Training will take place at:

  • ARU Cambridge campus - day release during term-time (36 days per year)
  • Source BioScience site in Histon, Cambs
