What you will do in your working day

Duties include:

  • Shampooing clients' hair
  • Assisting and observing stylists
  • When a certain level of skill and understanding has been gained, the tasks will gradually increase to things like applying colours, blow drying, styling etc
  • Advising clients on shampoos, conditioners and treatments 
  • Greeting clients
  • Making refreshments
  • Maintaining a clean working environment

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Hairdressing Professional Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional skills in maths and English if required
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • On successful completion of Level 2 standard in Hairdressing, there may be the opportunity to progress onto Level 3 Advanced Hairdressing Standard and a good training programme

Things to consider

Stephanie is the Owner Director of Denise Lesley. She has a long history in the industry as a third generation Hairdresser. In 2012 she took over the family business from her mother, Denise, and works hard to maintain the reputation of the salon that has been established for 36 years. Her holistic approach to her hairdressing and technical knowledge are her assets.
