What you will do in your working day

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in HGV maintenance and repairs, your duties will include:

  • Working with experienced technicians to learn HGV maintenance processes and how to diagnose problems
  • Assisting with vehicle safety checks including servicing, brakes, emissions, and testing specialist equipment
  • Be keen to develop mechanical and electrical skills, and learn how to use diagnostic equipment
  • Take an active role in workshop health and safety and housekeeping
  • Keep the working area in a clean and safe condition, and dispose of displaced material, fluids, packaging etc. into receptacles provided

The training you will be getting

Training will be at North Lindsey College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer. 

Day release. 

You will undertake the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship standard.

You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed. You will undertake both on and off-the-job training by a team of industry-qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge, and experience.
