What you will do in your working day

A Commis Chef assists a section chef, also known as a Chef de Partie. The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:

  • Helping with deliveries and restocking
  • Assisting with stock rotation
  • Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
  • Preparing to a high standard our cold dishes such as: mezze plates, meat antipasti, falafel plates and many more
  • Helping assist our Chefs in prepping and presenting our cooked meals
  • Help to create daily specials for our specials board
  • Help to clean and understand the daily cleaning sheets, temperature checks and log books

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Commis Chef qualification will be achieved on completion
  • Training will be one day a week at Strode College, Street, Somerset
  • Strode College will be managing the applications for this vacancy
  • Functional skills will be delivered if required

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • There will be a full time role for the right candidate

John one of the owners has worked in the industry for 40+ years, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the business. We use a selection of our cheeses throughout our menu from our ploughman's to the cheese on toast.
