Summary

Aston Architectural Aluminium Ltd have an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join their experienced team of fabricators, gaining a Level 2 apprenticeship in Fenestration Fabricator. The successful candidate will be mentored by an experienced team who will support individuals to become fully skilled & qualified in this industry.

Annual wage
£13,312 a year

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The apprenticeship in Fenestration consists of:

  • Intermediate Standard Apprenticeship-Fenestration Fabricator
  • Functional Skills in English and Math’s (Level 1/2) where applicable

All aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with your employer, and you will have regular site visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship program.
You will achieve a qualification in Fenestration Fabricator Level 2 Standard.

Course contents
  • Select the correct type and quantity of materials and components for each task.
  • Read and interpret specifications, diagrams and work instructions; follow instructions.
  • Plan work.
  • Prepare the work area effectively.
  • Complete equipment and machinery checks and adjustments.
  • Measure, calculate, mark and cut materials.
  • Select and use manual methods and machinery/workplace technology.
  • Join/assemble materials.
  • Fix ancillary items to products.
  • Follow health & safety and environmental policy and procedures.
  • Identify risks and hazards in the workplace and control measures.
  • Check and inspect work – interim and final.
  • Identify and rectify any work that is incorrect or incomplete.
  • Label product; protect and package product for safe transportation.
  • Re-use, re-cycle and dispose of material, waste and scrap from the work area, as appropriate.
  • Communicate with colleagues/customers; use common industry terminology appropriately.
  • Complete workplace documentation.
  • Report work outcomes and problems.

    Please be aware we work outside as well as inside on our jobs as they demand, as such you may be out in the cold for long periods of time. The work can also be physically quite demanding so please consider this before applying.
