The successful candidate's duties will be as followed:

  • General horse care duties
  • Lunging
  • Mucking Out
  • Turning Out
  • Grooming

Opportunities are available to groom at competitions and to travel. 

The training you will be getting

Equine Groom Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • All training for the apprenticeship will take place at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be delivered by Haddon Training
  • Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and take the test for level 2 English and maths prior to completion of their Apprenticeship

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • After completion of the apprenticeship, there is a possibility to enrol onto the advanced apprenticeship (level 3) or premanant employement for the right candidate

Things to consider

The ideal candidate would have horse experience and a willingness to develop and learn. The location can accept applications from non-riders and riders (competent as competition horses) so opportunities for all. Accommodation is available from April 2024 and livery for own horse is available.
