What you will do in your working day

General yard duties will include:-

  • Grooming
  • Liaising with clients
  • Tacking up
  • Riding
  • Preparing for matches
  • Mucking out

The apprenticeship is a work-based position with all learning being onsite. This is an excellent opportunity to learn all about polo in one of the most beautiful parks in the country.

The training you will be getting

  • You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship, with the employer at the employers premises, and supported by Haddon Training
  • You will also be supported in completing Functional Skills at Level 1 and/ or 2 in maths and English if you have not yet achieved a 'Pass' grade

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

For the right candidate, there is the possibility of progressing to a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship upon successful completion of Level 2, or possiblity of a permanent position.

Things to consider

This role will require outdoor work in all weathers so any candidate must be prepared to do this. Accommodation is available onsite.

All polo lessons are bespoke and can cover riding polo style, precision hitting, positional plays and tactics. This apprenticeship will allow you to learn all about polo and the game itself.
