What you will do in your working day

You will be trained to complete:

  • Year End, Quarterly and Monthly Accounts
  • VAT Returns
  • Payroll
  • Other accounting related tasks

You will be responsible for timely chasing in Client’s paperwork and checking it on arrival for missing information.

You will also support our Admin Staff as required.

The training you will be getting

The apprenticeship training is delivered through a combination of workplace learning and regular college attendance (1 day a week) . This training will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the Assistant Accountant Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship standard. On completion the apprentice will receive AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3) qualification.

Things to consider

Ideally, you will have a good standard of education and have a minimum of 5 GCSE A* - C or 9 - 4 including Maths and English or equivalent. At Freeman Baker onsite parking is available and they are within walking distance from the centre of Crewkerne. You MUST be prepared to commit to your work and training for the duration of the apprenticeship. In some cases, you may be required to have a telephone interview with Yeovil College prior to your application being passed on. If a suitable candidate is found prior to the advertised closing date, it may close earlier so please apply early to avoid disappointment.
