What you will do in your working day

You will be trained to a high standard in all duties required of you involving keeping the children safe and enhancing their learning and play. This will include:

  • Ensuring safety of children at all times
  • Supervising outdoor play
  • Supporting development through play
  • To plan and carry out activities
  • Preparing and feeding children
  • Keeping the nursery clean
  • Dealing with parents and any paperwork that needs completing
  • To attend additional training as required i.e. First Aid
  • To ensure that all Safeguarding Procedures are followed
  • You will be supported throughout your training and treated as a valuable member of staff
  • We will provide uniform garments free of charge

The training you will be getting

  • Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • College attendance is required one day a month
  • Functional Skills in maths and English if required
  • Paediatric first aid qualification

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you may be offered a permanent contract.

About the employer

Little Oaks Heywood is a private early years setting. We provide care for children from 3 months old. Babies and children begin their learning journeys with us in a safe, warm, nurturing environment. All children will learn through fun and exploratory play. Giving the children the opportunity to be creative through a wide range of resources from arts and crafts, role play or outdoor activities. Creating a safe and secure environment, to allow children to grow and develop. Our resources are inspired by nature using wood and upcycled items. We also incorporate fresh plants and herbs into the children's play to encourage sensory exploration. Outside play is a part of all children's development and here at Little Oaks we strive in providing natural outdoor resources, to encourage curiosity, imaginative, exploratory play.
