What you will do in your working day

-How to safely work in food and other industrial environments
-A range of welding skills including hygienic TIG and MIG welding
-How to follow approved welding procedures
-Measuring, cutting and fitting of stainless steel and mild steel pipework
-Fabrication including folding, shearing, punching and turning
-Understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and fabrication of pipework following drawings
-Using 2 and 3D drawings to fabricate and weld to close tolerances
-Building of structural platforms to BS EN1090-2

The training you will be getting

You will complete a level 3 Engineering Fitter apprenticeship. 

Within the apprenticeship you will gain knowledge, skills and behaviours. 

You will also gain a certificate in the 3 knowledge qualification.

Things to consider

Following on from your first year at GET, you will be continuing your learning alongside an experienced member of the team, working on site and in the workshop located in Stonehouse. During this time you will be expected to contribute in the workplace and complete your two qualifications.
