What you will do in your working day

The company are continuing to develop their apprenticeship programme and are looking to recruit a Business Admin Apprentice for their facilities at Ipswich. Tasks will vary based upon customer and seasonal demand but will always focus on our core principles of supporting the customer.

The roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To gain an understanding of the operating functions of the Customer Care office, supporting the apprentice's educational and future career goals
  • Developing a working knowledge of business operating platforms, e.g. Oracle, Warehouse Management System, Qlik-view
  • Further developing their working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, centring on Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint
  • Provide direct customer support to resolve queries i.e. stock availability, price queries, order/claim processing
  • Engage in Industry/Market research to inform business strategy
  • Collating and analysing data, reporting findings to team members
  • Administrative tasks to aide different teams within the business
  • Undertake when required specific projects to improve sales office performance and customer service

The training you will be getting

  • The apprentice will be working towards the Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard including Level 3 Diploma for the Business Administrator (General Business Administration)
  • Delivered virtually with no formal college attendance

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Successful completion of the apprenticeship course could lead to a permanent role within the company

Things to consider

Whilst there may be opportunities to travel for meetings with external stakeholders, the role is office based for the shift times detailed above. Apprentices will attend Colchester Institute once every 4 weeks for delivery sessions with resources available via the e-portfolio system. Apprentices will also receive dedicated 1-1 tutor support (including workplace visits and observations) throughout the programme.
