What you will do in your working day

  • Providing support to fee earners (Partners, Solicitors, Paralegals) in aspects of their casework
  • Developing and applying knowledge and understanding of the law and legal procedures and formalities relevant to the role
  • Conducting accurate and timely research, analysis and application of the relevant law
  • Drafting legal documentation and correspondence
  • Proof reading documents
  • Collating, indexing and redacting documents for bundles;
  • Preparing and drafting reports for clients
  • Supporting clients and witnesses throughout cases, including in Employment Tribunal hearings
  • Developing a good working knowledge of the key clients and contacts in their division
  • Taking responsibility for planning and organising workload effectively to deliver work in accordance with deadlines, expectations and costs estimate whilst also meeting quality standards
  • Complying with file management requirements and procedures for all matters
  • Applying a clear understanding of ethical concepts to work carried out
  • Responding to queries in a timely manner, always demonstrating courtesy and professionalism

Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate would have:

  • 3 A levels at BBC, T level at Merit, BTech Level 3 at DMM or equivalent (112 UCAS Points)
  • A willingness to learn and improve
  • Enthusiasm and initiative whilst undertaking responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An openness to step in to the unknown and adapt approach when necessary
  • A proactive approach to seeking guidance, support and to challenge where necessary

The training you will be getting

  • Paralegal Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification
  • End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • This apprenticeship aligns with CILEX for CILEx Paralegal
  • This apprenticeship aligns with National Association of Licensed Paralegals for Paralegal Technician

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • We expect our Paralegal Apprentices to progress on to the Solicitor Apprenticeship and subsequently qualify as solicitors

The Capsticks’ Employment and Pensions team is a growing team which provides strategic, ground-breaking and commercial advice to clients in the NHS, private healthcare, local government, emergency services, housing, charity, and social care sectors.
