What you will do in your working day

Activities within the role:

  • Work safely at all times complying with health and safety legislation, regulations, organisational and environmental requirements.
  • Assemble and test electronic and electro-mechanical products from drawings and standard operations and/or using knowledge and best practice.
  • To carry out calibrations and adjustments on instrumentation and torque measurement devices to required processes and standards.
  • To fault find and repair customers products following processes and using initiative.
  • To use relevant instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, data loggers etc. to perform tasks above.
  • To liaise with internal and external customers to provide technical support.
  • To raise issues and suggestions for improvement with the appropriate person or department. Be involved in implementing improvements.
  • To inform relevant persons of issues that may affect on-time delivery, proposing resolutions or relevant changes required.
  • To carry out day to day maintenance of equipment used within the department.
  • To assist design engineers and other relevant staff in the design & development of new and current product.
  • To participate in cross functional project teams.

The training you will be getting

Qualifications included:

  • Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard. Company Training Plan & Assessment.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge (1 day per week for 2 years at college) and Development Competence Qualification (workplace)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills - Maths (If required).
  • Level 2 Functional Skills - English (If required).
  • End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship.
