What you will do in your working day

From day one you’ll be given real responsibility, gaining invaluable experience and exposure working alongside our industry experts and across your team. As an HSEQ Apprentice at Amey, you will be working alongside the team to deliver the following:

  • Providing advice & guidance to the operational teams to support the delivery of their activities in line with our HSEQ requirements.
  • Review risk assessments, procedures, and processes to help improve our standards in health, safety & environment.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Monitoring of Radio detection portal.
  • Assist in the undertaking of health, safety and environmental inspections and audits.
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents, providing reports and lessons learned to the business.
  • Growing the operational team’s knowledge through training & sharing stories.
  • Looking at innovative ways to embed health safety & environment into our business.

The training you will be getting

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3 qualification. You will be fully supported through a combination of regular online lessons, e-learning materials, and access to their team of experts for 1-2-1 advice and support.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

With experience, you could move into a safety management role. You could also become a consultant and specialise in a particular area like environmental, construction or food safety.
