What you will do in your working day

As an adult care apprentice, you will play a vital role in a dedicated team providing specialised care. Your responsibilities involve assisting individuals with diverse physical needs, ensuring their well-being, and promoting independence.

Your role will include:

  • Develop and implement personalised care plans that cater to the unique requirements and preferences of each individual. This includes support with mobility, personal care, and medication administration
  • Conduct routine health assessments and closely monitor vital signs. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to respond promptly to any changes in health status, ensuring a comprehensive and proactive approach to care
  • Encourage and facilitate independence through the incorporation of movement exercises and mobility support. Work towards assisting individuals in achieving their personal goals and maintaining an active lifestyle
  • Maintain precise and detailed records of care activities, daily observations, and health updates. Foster clear communication with healthcare colleagues, caregivers, and the wider team to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care
  • Engage actively in ongoing training initiatives to enhance your knowledge and skills in the field
  • Learn under the guidance of experienced healthcare professionals, gaining a comprehensive understanding of best practices
  • Approach your role with empathy and compassion, recognising the diverse needs and experiences of each individual. Create a supportive and inclusive environment that upholds dignity, respect, and the highest standard of care

Working hours Please note that anyone under the age of 18 can only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours should be amended accordingly, to fall in line with the legislation.
