What you will do in your working day

AESC UK operates the UK’s only electric vehicle battery gigafactory in Sunderland and is the largest green energy business in the North East. You will join the world’s leading battery technology company and become part of our rapidly expanding business. Our Sunderland factory is one of 12 manufacturing sites across Europe, the US and Asia with over 5,000 employees globally. Our EV batteries can be found in more than 800,000 vehicles worldwide and have a superior safety record of zero-critical issues. As an apprentice you will be: Working with the latest cutting-edge equipment and advanced manufacturing processes and continue to drive improvements forward whilst maintaining the products highest quality and performance levels. •Working alongside a team of Maintenance Technicians providing breakdown response and process improvements. •Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and safe working practices. •Carry out PPM tasks to schedule. •Support Company and Department objectives to improve OEE through MTTR, MBD & BDR improvement activities. •Complete administrative tasks using a Maintenance Management System. •PLC Control. •Vision Systems. •Fixed Variable Speed Drives. •Robotics. •Pneumatics. •Conveyor Systems & AGV.

The training you will be getting

You will work towards on of the following pathways: Mechatronics Maintenance Technician, Product Design and Development Technician, Technical Support Technician. First year will be spent at college.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Trained to full maintenance technician level over a 5-year period. You will complete both the L3 and L4 qualifications during this time.
