What you will do in your working day

  • Gaining an understanding of safe working practices, and working within these
  • Understanding and Interpreting information
  • Using a range of manual and electrical tools
  • Creating door frames
  • Hanging doors
  • Fitting hinges
  • Creating window frames and installing floor joists coverings
  • Boxing in pipework
  • Measuring, marking out, cutting, finishing, positioning, and securing wood
  • Safely storing materials, without causing damage

The training you will be getting

You will attend West London College on day release and work towards Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

There are many different routes within Wates after successful completion.

Move into a permanent role, Trainee Management programme.
