Community Activator Coach Apprentice STEER SPORTS AND EDUCATION LTD
The role varies between shadowing experienced coaches, running lunch or after school clubs and also supporting at our Wraparound venues in Somerset and Exeter. We internally provide CPD opportunities to develop the coach further. This can include British Gymnastics qualifications, British Fencing, British Dodgeball as well as Premier activators

What you will do in your working day
- Shadowing senior coaches (completing observation documents)
- Running lunchtime clubs / supporting at evening or weekend events
- Eventually running own after school clubs and progressing onto curricular teaching
At Premier, we celebrate our strengths, so if the applicant has a particular sport that they enjoy or perform well in, we will utilise this in offering their expertise to schools and to train our own staff internally.
The training you will be getting
Level 2 Community Activator Coach - Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours; Functional Skills in English and maths if required
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
The right candidate could move into a Level 4 Apprenticeship or Foundation degree (L5).
They could also go through internal progression such as Team Leadership, Venue Lead, Project Coordinator, Operations Manager, Assessor, Middle Leadership etc.

You could reduce your training time, or finish your apprenticeship faster, if you have relevant prior learning or experience. This could be relevant:
- qualifications, like an NVQ in a relevant field
- industry or sector experience

If your application is successful, you will have a chance to discuss your relevant prior learning or experience with your training provider and employer. You will all need to agree any adjustments to your training plan.
You should be prepared to show your competence, and evidence of relevant qualifications
