What you will do in your working day

As a Sustainability and Social Value Admin Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and monitoring of our social value and sustainability initiatives. This is a hybrid role where you will work from our office in Yate as well as interacting with the local community. You will work closely with project teams, community stakeholders, and internal departments to ensure that our projects deliver tangible benefits to the local community.

Full Description of Vacancy:


1. Supporting the Head of Sustainability and Social Value with a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to administrative support, organising and attending local events, support with the early careers/apprenticeship provision and social media marketing.

2.  Coordinate educational and training programs for local communities, ensuring they benefit from the construction projects in terms of skills development and employment opportunities.

3.  Help to identify and build partnerships with local charities, educational establishments and other relevant organisations to enhance the effectiveness of our social value initiatives.

4. Help preparing reports on the progress and impact of our social value and sustainability initiatives. Communicate results internally and externally, showcasing the positive contributions to both project locations and local communities.

5. Identify networking opportunities and play an active role in attending and presenting at an industry level to ensure we are seen to be market leaders.

The training you will be getting

As the successful apprentice you will undertake an Apprenticeship Standard Apprenticeship Level 3 to include assessment in Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours, Functional Skills in maths and English (where applicable), and completion of your End Point Assessment. You will also complete the Business Admin Diploma at Level 3 along side your apprenticeship. 

During your time on the apprenticeship programme, you will also be expected to complete and document 20% off-job-training.

The Apprenticeship will be delivered by South Gloucestershire & Stroud College over 18 months.

You will be required to attend Filton Campus on a block release basis for your studies and an assessor will visit you out on site.  You will be assigned a supervisor/mentor within the workplace, who will support you to develop your workplace skills, knowledge and behaviours throughout the duration of your apprenticeship programme.
