What you will do in your working day

  • You’ll be dismantling, examining, replacing, and reassembling mechanical and electrical systems and components
  • Servicing and maintaining equipment
  • Working on big yellow machinery to equipment that deals with dust, there will be lots to learn

The training you will be getting

You will complete a Level 3 advanced Engineering Technician apprenticeship, where you will complete a 4 year programme. You will gain:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering 
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • NVQ Level 3 
  • Term time (38 weeks) of the first year will be spent on a residential basis at the training centre in Birmingham. This will all be funded by Breedon Group. Year 2 will be spent in the workplace, with 7 weeks of residential at the training centre in Birmingham. Years 3 and 4 will be in the workplace

Things to consider

Must be prepared to attend the residential element of the programme in year 1 and 2, which means being away from home from Sunday evening to Friday lunch time for 38 weeks in year one and 7 weeks in year 2. Accommodation, travel, breakfast and evening meal is paid for by Breedon Group.
