What you will do in your working day

  • Repairing and maintaining production and site service assets
  • Problem solving and fault finding on mechanical, electrical assets and control logic failures
  • Servicing production and warehouse assets
  • Supporting the implementation of new projects
  • Working on utilities assets (steam, water, air, refrigeration, effluent etc.)
  • Utilising performance improvement tools PEX, RCM, CMMS to improve asset reliability
  • Automation, controls, electrical compliance, and OEM maintenance with innovative, state-of-the-art machinery

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Following a successful completion of an engineering apprenticeship and subject to places being available a newly qualified engineer could well work as a shift engineer repairing and maintaining production lines or on days within the service team carrying out major overhauls on the production assets.  Further to this after gaining the above experience an Engineer could move into first line management as an engineering team leader or asset Care manager.
