What you will do in your working day

The post is working on the reception so you will be answering the telephone and meeting and greeting - not just staff, but members of the public and other professionals too.

The post is varied and one week is certainly different from the next.

  • Organise room bookings 
  • Servicing meetings 
  • Make up baby packs 
  • Make up children’s centre packs 
  • General typing - posters / leaflets 
  • Keeping noticeboards up to date with the relevant information 
  • Money handling e.g. Money from fareshare / play sessions and assisting in reconciling cash tins 
  • Enter statistical information on the council’s database e.G. Liquidlogic 
  • Midwifery notification slips 
  • Checking on upns and adding to liquidlogic 
  • Making charts for family support workers to use with families 

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner
  • Functional Skills in maths, English & IT (if required)
  • Regular training and development to meet the needs of the employer and the apprentice
  • Training and training location to be confirmed

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity of full-time employment upon completion of the advanced apprenticeship if a position is available.
