You’ll be supported every step of the way, by your line manager and mentor. Working in one of our design teams, your day to day will involve:

  • Working on the design of our projects to install new or refurbish existing assets
  • You will work closely with a number of teams, including our project delivery, asset management and our operations teams, to ensure we deliver the best possible service to our projects sponsor. 

 

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

  • You will define engineering constraints
  • You will identify risks and how these can be resolved through design
  • You will contribute to safe and sustainable technical solutions through the production of reports, drawings, calculations and models.

The training you will be getting

Within one of our design teams you will complete the Level 6 Civil Engineer Degree Apprenticeship standard, allowing you to develop the skills & experience required to become an expert.  You’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training. A Personal Development Plan will help drive your career progression, set, agreed & regularly reviewed with your line manager.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

By the end of this programme, you will take up a full time role in Severn Trent where you will be able to put your skills to action.
Following completion of your apprenticeship, you will move into a full-time role as a Civil Engineer where you’ll get to make a real difference.
