What you will do in your working day

A normal day would include:

  • Office admin
  • Checking and highlighting emails
  • Updating / monitoring the CRM system
  • Supporting the business development manager
  • Chasing invoices / quotations
  • Social media support
  • IT support (preferable, not a requirement)
  • Arranging appointments for assessors / sending confirmation
  • Requesting information from clients for the assessors

The above are considered to be the daily tasks. In addition, the apprentice may attend site with assessors, attend meetings with the Director / Business Support Manager.

The intention is to provide additional training and support once competent in their role to allow the right person to become a fire risk assessor and potentially to support them through a degree to become a fire engineer of the future.

Re driving, a driving license is not mandatory as the person will accompany another employee to any premises or event; however, going forward, it would be beneficial for the candidate to attain their driving license.

About the employer

Fire Safety Consultancy. The Director served 27years in Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service as an operational firefighter and officer. They also undertook specialist fire safety courses to enable them to become a fire safety enforcement officer and to lead the Fire Engineering department prior to them leaving the fire service in 2018. SPL Fire Safety was established in 2012 by the Director and is considered as being one of the most knowledgeable, experienced companies in the UK. The correct applicant will be joining an expanding team where they will learn how to review and analyse premises and make them safe for their occupants.
